During our travels we have visited China 3 times. The brief opinions
which we have received from our tour guides have been mixed .It is unclear how
much the central messages really influence their commentary, but it appears
that central control is strong. It is also obvious that rural communities are
much poorer than urban ones. However, they also have more freedom, in so far as
they can to some extent avoid ‘the rules’ (for example by the size of their families).
I can only describe my observations through pictures:
Smog
Limited Health and Safety
Building Everywhere
Rural Culture
Wonderful Architecture
Dense Urban Housing
Quirky Transport
